On April 25, 2025, a community-centered disaster preparedness event was held at the Covered Court of Bagong Karsada, Naic, Cavite, spearheaded by the Information Technology Department in collaboration with the Barangay Officials of Bagong Karsada. The activity focused on the technology transfer and hands-on training for the ARDANS Mobile Application—an innovative platform for real-time disaster preparedness, early warning, and emergency response coordination.
Attended by Dr. Rossian V. Perea, Mr. Henry Balanza, Mr. Marc Luigi G. Timola, Mr. Jomari M. Launio, Mr. Allan E. Evardo Jr., the GAD Unit Head, and selected BSIT and BSCS students, the event aimed to equip barangay officials, responders, and community members with digital and practical tools to enhance risk assessment, evacuation planning, and crisis communication.
This workshop also emphasized gender perspectives in disaster response, reinforcing inclusive and community-based strategies. Through this collaborative effort, technology becomes a bridge toward safer, smarter, and more inclusive communities.
