Philippine International Tourism and Hospitality 2025 – Research Convention (PITH-ReCon 2025)
Mr. Edriane E. Serrano, Chairperson of the Management Department, participated in the 3rd Philippine International Tourism and Hospitality Research Convention (PITH-ReCon 2025) held on April 23, 2025, at the University of Santo Tomas. With the theme “Tourism and Hospitality: Drivers of Peace and Stability,” the event brought together researchers and industry professionals to share insights and promote sustainable development in the sector.
Among the distinguished speakers at the event were Rev. Fr. Reynor E. Munsayac, OP, Provincial Promoter of Justice and Peace and Care for Creation of the Dominican Province of the Philippines; Ms. Rahima M. Solaiman, JD, Chief of the Halal Division under the Bureau of Muslim Economic Affairs at the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF); and Mr. Anthony France Ramos, a Police Major and Public Safety Officer from the Philippine National Police (PNP). Their insights provided valuable perspectives on how peace, justice, and inclusive practices intersect with tourism and hospitality development.
Mr. Serrano presented his research, contributing to discussions on the role of tourism and hospitality in fostering peace and collaboration. Attending the convention, his involvement reflects the Management Department’s commitment to research excellence and its active role in shaping the future of the industry through collaboration and innovation.
