On June 5, 2025, the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Department (FASD) and the Gender and Development (GAD) Unit of CvSU Naic conducted GADKakayahan: Women’s Training on Fisheries Post-Harvest Technologies at the CvSU Naic Mabolo Annex, Mabolo, Naic, Cavite. Attended by members of the League Council of Women-LGU Naic, the activity featured a collaborative face-to-face session with officials from both CvSU Naic and LGU Naic.
This initiative aimed to empower women through livelihood training integrated with Gender and Development (GAD) principles. The objectives included equipping participants with sustainable post-harvest skills, providing hands-on training in fish processing techniques such as soft-bone bangus smoking and milkfish deboning, and promoting gender-responsive economic development at the community level.
The highlight of the activity was the practical demonstration and hands-on participation in fish processing, supported by student extensionists from the BS Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (BSFAS) program. This training reflects CvSU Naic’s commitment to inclusive community engagement, gender equity, and local capacity-building.
