The Cavite State University (CvSU) Naic, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Naic and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), officially inaugurated and blessed the Pawikan Hatchery 2 and Pawikan Conservation and Information Center on October 9, 2025, at CvSU Naic Mabolo Annex, Mabulo, Naic, Cavite.

The event was graced by Hon. Mayor Rommel Anthony V. Magbitang, MENRO officials, representatives from the LGU Naic Tourism Department, and the Philippine Reclamation Authority, alongside CvSU Naic Campus Administrator Prof. Armina B. Pugay, members of the Campus Executive Council, Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Department (FASD) faculty, and the PAWIKan Extension Project Team.

The facility, an infrastructure project established through the collaboration between CvSU Naic and LGU Naic, aims to serve as a center for marine turtle conservation, protection, and education. It provides a safe space for hatchlings until their release into the wild and promotes public awareness on the importance of marine biodiversity conservation.

CvSU Naic’s Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Department will also utilize the facility in implementing the extension project “Proyekto para sa Angkop at Wastong Initiatibo para sa Kapakanan ng Pawikan (PAWIKan): CvSU Naic’s Sea Turtle Conservation and Protection Extension Project,” approved under BOR Resolution No. 46, s. 2024.

This collaborative effort reflects the commitment of CvSU Naic and LGU Naic to environmental stewardship, sustainable development, and marine life preservation.
