Another activity related to the 2024 CvSU Naic 18-Day Campaign to End VAWC was held on December 6, 2024, via Zoom and Facebook Live, organized by the Gender and Development (GAD) Unit. The event brought together CvSU Naic faculty and students to support the annual advocacy campaign against violence toward women and children (VAWC) and related gender-based abuses.
Key speakers included Mr. Mark Bryan Gusi, who discussed Gender-Based Violence in Digital Media, and Mr. Ariel R. Rivera, who spoke on Building Inclusive Spaces and Promoting GEDSI (Gender Equality, Diversity, and Social Inclusion).
The campaign aimed to address the systemic inequalities underpinning gender-based violence, directly aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10, which focuses on reducing inequalities. It emphasized creating inclusive, safe spaces while advocating for the rights of marginalized women and children, including those from impoverished or indigenous communities or with disabilities. This transformative initiative highlights CvSU’s commitment to fostering a violence-free and equitable society.
