Faculty members and student leaders from Cavite State University Naic actively participated in the seminar titled “Empower to Lead: Championing Gender-Transformative and Inclusive Leadership” held on March 16, 2026, at S.M. Rolle Hall, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite.

The seminar featured insightful discussions on Gender Sensitivity Orientation led by Asst. Prof. King David J. Agreda, a member of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and a member of the GAD Resource Pool. Atty. Irene G. Pua, Senior Legal Associate of the UP College of Law – Gender Law and Policy Program, provided a comprehensive discussion on Republic Act No. 7877 and Republic Act No. 11313. Meanwhile, Undersecretary Ma. Arlene S. Borja of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) discussed Republic Act No. 9208, as amended by Republic Act No. 10364 and further strengthened by Republic Act No. 11862.

As part of the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration, the activity aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of key gender concepts, including roles, stereotypes, equality, equity, and gender-responsive leadership. It also enhanced awareness of significant laws such as the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995, the Safe Spaces Act, and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.

The seminar emphasized prevention strategies, reporting mechanisms, and the vital role of youth leaders in fostering safe and inclusive campus spaces, as well as in combating trafficking and exploitation, empowering them to become advocates of gender equality and inclusive development within the university community.
