On April 3, 2025, the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (BSFAS) IV students at Cavite State University Naic successfully organized a virtual webinar entitled “Crab Chronicles: Exploring Mangrove Crab Biology and Sustainable Aquaculture” via Google Meet. This academic activity was conducted as part of the requirements for the FISH 190 Seminar course and was attended by BSFAS students from first to fourth year, along with faculty members from the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Department.

The webinar featured Mrs. Jenalyn S. Lames, Associate Researcher from the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center/Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC/AQD), as the resource speaker. Mrs. Lames shared her expertise on the life cycle, physiology, and behavior of mangrove crabs, as well as innovative and sustainable practices in mangrove crab aquaculture. The session also explored strategies to improve productivity, profitability, and long-term sustainability in the industry.

This activity served not only as a platform for knowledge sharing but also as a practical training experience for the BSFAS IV students in planning, preparing, and implementing educational events. Moreover, it provided valuable insights to support the academic and professional preparation of graduating students as they gear up for their board examinations.
