SEMINAR-WORKSHOP | The Office of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction headed by Dr Jesus Paolo B Cullado together with Department Chairpersons – Dr. Ernesto Gutierrez(TED), Mr.Edriane Serrano(MD), Dr.Ricky Jay Riel(ITD), Mr. Rodolfo Bagay,Jr.(ASD), and Ms.Quennie Bilugan representing the FASD attended the seminar-workshop on Gender-Responsive Curriculum: Tool for a Transformative Educational Institution on March 20, 2024 at the S.M. Rolle Hall, CvSU Main campus. Joining the ODCI was Dr.Leah C Navarro, OIC of the Office of the Campus Administrator of CvSU Naic and the program heads of the different academic programs of the Campus.
The seminar-workshop was initiated by the Gender and Development Resource Center as part of the activities commemorating Women’s Month for the current year. Ms.Raecel A.Estebat, CALABARZON GAD Resource Pool Batch 2 and Head of Training and Courseware Development Division, Extension Services provided a comprehensive discussion on the fundamental concepts on Gender and Development highlighting the features of CHED CMO 1, series of 2015 on the Policies and Guidelines on GAD in the Commission on Higher Education and Higher Education Institutions(HEIs). Her discussion provided the foundation for the subsequent afternoon discussion on the Mainstreaming of Gender in Teaching and Learning Strategies given by Ms. Arlene Estrada, GAD advocate and faculty member, CvSU Trece Martirez campus. The participants were then asked to present their versions of gender responsive syllabus as application of the concepts and provisions of GAD to the areas of teaching and learning.
