The International Conference on Environmental Education in Southeast Asia (iCEESEA 2024), themed “Ecological Literacy: Contributions of Environmental Educators, Partners, and Practitioners in Shaping a Sustainable Future,” was held on November 20-22, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand. Organized by the Philippines Network of Educators on Environment (PNEE) in collaboration with Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, Thailand, the event was attended by over 130 participants from eight countries.

Dr. Leah C. Navarro, Associate Professor of the Teacher Education Department (TED) at CvSU Naic, presented a research paper co-authored by Dr. Elsa Nueva, Dr. Jesus Paolo Cullado, Dr. Catherine S. Diones, and Prof. Adiliza G. Nazareno, titled “Social Vulnerability Assessment of Coastal Barangays in Naic, Cavite: Baseline Data on Barangay’s Resilience to the Effect of Climate Change.”

Key highlights included the launch of the ASEAN Network of Educators on Environment by Dr. Rico C. Anco, PNEE Secretary and Dean of SESAM-UPLB, and inspiring speeches from Honorable Ambassador Millicent Cruz-Paredes and Dr. Dindo M. Campilan, Regional Director of the IUCN Asia and Oceania Hub.

The conference underscored the importance of fostering collaboration among environmental educators to address pressing environmental challenges while promoting sustainable development through education, research, and extension programs.
