Inclusive Disaster Risk Response: Integrating Gender Perspectives for Resilient Communities in Bucana Malaki
On May 16, 2025, the Information Technology Department conducted a community outreach activity titled “Inclusive Disaster Risk Response: Integrating Gender Perspectives for Resilient Communities” at the Covered Court in Bucana Malaki, Naic, Cavite. The event introduced the ARDANS Mobile Application, a digital platform designed to enhance disaster preparedness and emergency response.
The ITD Chairperson, Dr. Michelle C. Tanega, together with the ITD faculty members such as Dr. Rossian V. Perea, Dr. Angelito Catajan Jr., Mr. Henry Balanza, Mr. Marc Luigi G. Timola, Mr. Jomari M. Launio, the GAD Unit Head, Mr. Allan Evardo Jr., ITD part-time instructors, and selected BSIT and BSCS students trained barangay officials and community members on the effective use of ARDANS through hands-on demonstrations and the distribution of user manuals. The activity also emphasized gender inclusivity in disaster response and officially transferred the technology for local use.
This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to empowering communities through innovative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions.
